ABOUT ME

Hello! Thanks for visiting my page. I’m the author of Dawn of Deoridium.

I grew up in a small town in Western Massachusetts. My childhood was filled with sports, art and music. Back then basketball was my favorite, but these days I’m much more into tennis and hiking. My affinity for art originated from a combination of Bob Ross and X-men comic books, and my mom taught me piano. I later took up singing and guitar.

I studied Electrical Engineering in college and grad school and worked in the field for a couple of years, but my true passion at the time was music. I moved to New York City in 2005 to pursue a career as a singer/songwriter (you can find links to my music on my website). After a decade of making albums, videos and playing shows, I pivoted back to Engineering, teaching at a local college. Around the same time, I began to dabble in musical theater. A friend asked me, “Why don’t you write a musical?” I thought, not a musical, but maybe a fantasy novel.

So in 2014, I began writing Dawn of Deoridium. After five years of spinning my wheels on my own, I joined a writer’s workshop — it was one block from my new apartment so I took it as a sign. After just a few weeks in the workshop, I decided to throw out 95% of what I’d written, which was scary but necessary. The feedback I received touched on things that deep down I had felt all along, but to hear it from other writers made it real. I plugged away with weekly submissions, writing and rewriting. I recall the satisfaction of completing the first draft, quickly replaced by the reality that I still had a ways to go. Two years and several drafts later, I finally had myself a book!

Dawn of Deoridium is the first book in a series entitled “The Shift” so keep your eyes out for Book Two!
